A clear introduction to basic concepts of Osteopathic Medicine and the specific anatomy/physiology of craniosacral therapy, This book focuses on understanding the history of craniosacral therapy through anecdotes and case histories. Specific techniques and outcomes are then presented. A good, easy to read, introduction to craniosacral therapy by one of the first people trained by Dr. John Upledger, the "father" of modern craniosacral therapy.
I was trained in Cranial Sacral 14 years ago and have kept using it over the years, but now that I am practicing this more full time I ordered a few books for reference and progression of the practice. This book is a really amazing guide that breaks down the systems, the bones and even goes over basic techniques in the end of the book. Easy to read and follow, great reference book for sure!
I'm in a class for Cranial/Sacral with a teacher who isn't very good at teaching. Frustrated with the lack of materials, a general disorderly method of giving what he does know, and his very slim instruction in palpation, I began a search for a book to help me get what I wanted. This book is fantastic! It clearly lays out the 10 step protocol and gives great tips for discovering the rhythm through palpation. The illustrations are helpful as well. I was quickly loosing any interest in a subject (CST) that I have been wanting to learn for years but this book saved the day! I showed it to my teacher and he said that it would be a good text book to use for his classes in the future. I hope, for their sake, he does.
