Not a lot of trips in NW New Mexico, which is really where so many tourists visit-- Santa Fe, Taos, etc. The drives we were able to do that covered that region were the normal route to take, so I didn't really need this book. It gave me literally one or two lines of additional info. about the areas I was passing through. Maybe we can use it again if we explore more of the southern and eastern parts of the state. No pictures and pretty limited overall, in my view.
Book arrived quickly and in excellent condition.We travelled along 5 scenic routes found inside.Directions were very good, descriptions were validated by our experience.New Mexico in mid-January was stunning, uncrowded and magical.We tripped up into southern Colorado; Durango, Mancos and Mesa Verde - can't say enough about these beauties.Grand, long views. Friendly folk, good food. Peaceful and plentiful.Wow. Looking forward to more road trips in the 4 Corners area.
Great searchability as an ebook, although likely easier to share with fellow travellers if in a hardcopy. (Definite packing advantage with ebook though!) Took a number of suggestions,. Don't think we did any of the suggested routes in full, but definitely found routes we were glad we didn't miss with the helpful info. Have used on multiple trips. (Anticipate using to confirm / refresh memory on locations of pictures as well!)
This paperback is poorly printed on recycled paper with badly reproduced black and white photos. The text and directions seem well written and helpful, although it’s too bad the writer’s words received such poor reproduction in printing.
REALLY??? black and white, cheap paper, poor binding, only useful thing are the maps!
I have bought this guide twice, once at an outdoor store in Silver City, NM and once on line. It is the only book or map that I have found that has a COMPLETE list of all kinds of camp grounds for car camps, trailer camps, access to national forest trails, everything!!
I love road trips and this book has inspired me to look into setting up a trip in my trusty Jeep.
