Reyna Biddy does it again. I deeply related to this book. For me, “I Love My Love†is something that my teenaged self would have needed and “A Psalm for Us†is something for this point in my life. You see the maturation in writing from her first book to this one. Reyna is definitely about connecting with people.
I've been following Reyna Biddy on social media for years and I love seeing her improve in her work. She is very open and honest. She doesn't hold back anything. Even though I haven't gone through some of the things she talks about in her books, I still felt connected to her. She paints a story in my head and that is something I absolutely love. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is/ has struggled with self love, self worth, breakups, and/or family issues.
Hands Up praise to Reyna! This is the BEST poetry book I have read to date. I found myself doing a few pages a day, this would really draw me in I swear I broke down a few times reading A Psalm For Us because it is relatable. I love Reyna's honesty. It is a breath of fresh air. She's unapologetic and walks to the beat of her own drum. This collection is also more experimental than her debut which I also loved. I can't to see what she releases next.
Awesome poetry book that has touched me in so many ways. I own all of her books and I would recommend them to anyone. Also, I got “I love my love†tattooed on me. If that doesn’t express how much I love this book, nothing else will. Lol
I've made it a habit to read this book every monday morning to start my weeks with honesty, love, motivation, and relatability. It's an easy but meaningful read. The only issue I have is with stylistic writing choices that occassionally feel awkward.
I’ve been following Reyna on social media for a long time and finally decided to pick up her book. I was not sorry! It’s such a deep and emotional piece of work and i related to it so much. In a time of instagram poets that all seem kind of the same Reyna stands out from the crowd. Reyna has such a way with words, i would 10/10 highly recommend.
